'Dui Hujurer Goppo' (A Tale of Two Masters) was staged at Lesley University's Marran theater in Cambridge, MA on June 15th and 16th, 2019. It was performed in Bangla (no English captions )
'Dui Hujurer Goppo' (A Tale of Two Masters) celebrates the virtue of simplicity and camaraderie in the face of adversity.
Set in the backdrop of the eighties, it is a lighthearted take on a reckless attempt by the two protagonists to establish their dominance in a peace loving community. Their plan backfires in an unusual way. The narrative then follows the sequence of events that lead to the climax where a united community successfully fights off the imminent threat of jealousy and discord.
The script of DHG is still relevant in a time when negativity and divisiveness is again dominating the main course of dialogue in our society. It sends a message of hope - it reminds us of the importance of community bonding.
