Hingsha Shomporkito Dhara Biborini (A Commentary on Violence)

This is a long poem by Joy Goswami, adapted as a solo performance for stage. Directed by Sankha Bhowmick, this thirty–minute production was developed almost in parallel to and was performed before Bijoner Chayer Cabin in 2009 and 2010. In addition, it was performed at the BangaMela, held in Virginia in July 2012. The performance won two awards: Best Director and Best Actor. This deeply humanistic poem ponders human destiny via an intense exploration of civilization’s disturbing nexus with mass violence through history.
